DESCRIPTION:<p>\n	Volunteers are essential to the success of Good Shepherd C
 enter and help us improve the lives of homeless women and children in our 
 community. We would love to have you join our team as a <strong>volunteer<
 /strong>. Prior to volunteering we strongly reccomend that you participate
  in a <strong>tour</strong> of our facilites. Tours are offered the second
  Saturday of the month at 10:00 am.  NOTE: There will be no tour in Decemb
 er.\n</p>\n<p>\n	Tours begin at our Farley House Residence\, located at 167
 1 Beverly Blvd. Parking and entrance to the building are in the alley loca
 ted one block north of Beverly Blvd.\, off Union Ave.\n</p>\n<p>\n	The tour
  takes a little more than an hour and will be followed by a Volunteer Info
 rmation and Orientation. If you are interested in volunteering or learning
  how how you can get involved (e.g. donating\, serving on our Auxiliary Bo
 ard\, or assisting with fund-raising)\, we strongly encourage you to parti
 cipate in the tour.\n</p>\n<p>\n	Those that attend the <strong>Volunteer In
 formation and Orientation</strong> portion will:\n</p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n		Learn 
 more about Good Shepherd Centers’ programs\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Be provided with 
 a list of current volunteer opportunities and a job description\n	</li>\n<l
 i>\n		Have an opportunity to fill out a volunteer application\n	</li>\n</ul>

 \n		Fill out a volunteer application\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Pass a background check.o
 r be live scan fingerprinted at one of our Live Scan Centers. (depending o
 n your volunteer position).\n	</li>\n<li>\n		TB clearance (at your expense or
  there are facilities that do it for free\;  we will provide you with that
  information)\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Interview by a staff member/s\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Pl
 ease note: Minors do not need to pass a background check but will need par
 ental or guardian approval (signature)\n	</li>\n</ul>\n<p>\n	If you would li

 p>\n<p>\n	<strong>Volunteer Opportunities:</strong>\n</p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n		Fund
 -raising\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Join our Outreach Team\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Join our Auxil
 iary Board\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Assist in our Family Services Program\n	</li>\n<li
 >\n		Serve as a tutor in Math or English for women working on their GED. Tut
 oring is one on one and hours are flexible.\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Prepare (or cate
 r) a meal and serve to residents at one of our shelters\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Faci
 litate an employment related seminar-this can be a one time commitment.\n	<
 /li>\n<li>\n		Organize our donation room. You must be able to work independe
 ntly with little supervision. Hours are flexible but must be weekdays\, du
 ring regular business hours. Great organizational abilities a plus!\n	</li>
 \n<li>\n		Facilitate a drive (food\, toiletries\, beauty products). Ask abou
 t our incentive program.\n	</li>\n<li>\n		Volunteer opportunities change peri
 odically depending on our needs at the time. We welcome your ideas.\n	</li>
