We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

Young Storytellers is an arts education nonprofit with programs in public elementary schools all over Los Angeles and a few remote locations across the country. Using the tried and true techniques of mentoring, collaboration, and performance, we provide students with an opportunity to write stories and see them brought to life on stage. Our mission is to inspire young people to discover the power of their own voice. Our Script to Stage program is a nine-week program with volunteers offering one-on-one mentoring for fifth graders where they learn creative self-expression by writing their very own screenplay. The Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a special morning exclusively for families with adults or children with autism.
Admission is just $7 per person. Members and children under 3 are free.

The entire Aquarium, except Lorikeet Forest, is open at 7am. Families can enjoy the tranquility of the Aquarium's exhibits and meet 11,000 animals from the world’s largest ocean.
Autism Family Morning guests may continue to enjoy the Aquarium after it opens to the public at 9am.
On the first Saturday of each month, join CMA Educators and volunteers in a beach cleanup, clearing the shore of marine debris. Meet at the steps in front of the auditorium.
Groups are required to make reservations by the Thursday before the event: Call Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, 310-548-7562.
FREE; open to all ages 3+
Vroman's favorite storytime guy, Mr. Steve, shares books with little ones every Wednesday and Saturday morning in the kids' section of the store.
