Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.
If you have questions about our calendar, or would like to add a listing, please contact calendar@bigsunday.org or submit your event/opportunity via the button below.

It is our pleasure to invite your support of Safe Place for Youth's 5th Annual Carnival fundraiser. The event will be hosted by one of our founding Board Members, and CAA Super Agent, Peter Micelli, and his wife Jennifer, with 100% of proceeds going towards Safe Place for Youth's programs that help homeless youth exit the streets.
Each year, our Carnival is an opportunity to celebrate and reflect on our ever-expanding impact in a fun, family setting. We are proud to share that in 2016, SPY provided life-saving services to over 1,000 youth.
With the 62% increase in in youth homelessness across our county this year, support from our community partners is now more crucial than ever. Your backing is essential in helping us not only maintain, but grow our programs that include case management, legal counseling, health & wellbeing, pregnant & parenting guidance, education & employment services, and the meeting of basic survival needs.
Please join us as a sponsor this year to ensure the success of young people in our community.

You have done so much, but we hope you might consider doing even more by joining us for our annual Builder’s Ball on Thursday, September 28th, at the Beverly Hilton. It’s going to be another amazing night of food, fun, and fellowship. We will be honoring boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard and hockey great Luc Robitaille of the LA Kings. Grammy nominated and platinum-selling R&B group, En Vogue, will also close out the evening with a wonderful musical performance!
.
Ticket and table information are attached. You can also visit www.habitatla.org/support-us/donate/los-angeles-builders-ball/. All proceeds will go to support Habitat LA’s Building a Greater Los Angeles campaign to help serve 1,000 more families. The need for affordable housing across Los Angeles is greater than ever and what we do by coming together as Angelinos to raise awareness and support on the 28th will have such an impact for years and generations to come.
Since 1992, Rebuilding Together Long Beach (RTLB) has developed partnerships within the community to rebuild owner-occupied homes and non-profit facilities for low-income residents, particularly the elderly or those with disabilities, so they may live independently with dignity, in warmth and safety, all at no cost to the recipient(s).
The impact has been incredible, with over $5.8 million in community revitalization services completed (including market value of volunteer work, actual costs and in kind donations values).
Please join us on Saturday, September 30th from 4PM-6PM to celebrate 25 years of rebuilding a healthier Long Beach. Light refreshments will be provided as we share memories and honor the outstanding service of our volunteers. The attire is casual.
