Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.
If you have questions about our calendar, or would like to add a listing, please contact calendar@bigsunday.org or submit your event/opportunity via the button below.
Each year people from all walks of life join us to eat, sing (with a live band) and enjoy the holidays. Special guests have included low-income seniors, kids with challenges, women and children from a domestic violence shelter, veterans and others who needed a little extra TLC during the holidays. We’ll be collecting toys for kids, food for hungry families and winter coats. To RSVP or donate items, please contact Rob at rob@bigsunday.org or 323-549-9944.
Each month Big Sunday collects at least 600 items in our popular monthly food drive to help hungry and grateful people. Sorting is December 16 from 10 -11 am. Food can be delivered before that date/time. Can’t shop? We also accept money so we can shop for you! For more info, contact endofthemonthclub@bigsunday.org.

At Big Sunday, we’re often surprised by how many people simply don’t have enough clothes. So, once again, we’ll be collecting all kinds of clothes for all kinds of disadvantaged and grateful people. Volunteers are needed to count, sort and fold the clothes.
Of course, we’ll also all be enjoying breakfast together. And, once again, everyone is invited to meet someone new and participate in our memorable Something in Common photo project.
We like to think that this is in the spirit of Dr. King and something he’d have enjoyed.
New and gently used work clothes, casual clothes and athletic wear needed. New socks and underwear are greatly appreciated too! All ages are welcome.

Every month, Big Sunday sponsors a food drive to collect food for a local food pantry or nonprofit organization. This month, we are encouraging everyone to Clean Out Your Cupboards and donate all unexpired, nonperishable food to our senior friends at EngAGE! EngAGE is a non-profit that transforms aging and the way people think about aging by turning affordable senior apartment communities into vibrant centers of learning, wellness and creativity. The food can be dropped off at Big Sunday starting today through Jan. 20 at 11 am. Wanna help sort the collected food? Stop by the Big Sunday office between 10 and 11 am on Jan. 20. We’d love for you to pitch in!
