We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

Tour de Summer Camps is a community cycling fundraiser, in which all proceeds will benefit scholarships for kids to attend Jewish summer camps. All across Simi Valley and beyond, riders will have the option to an 18-mile, 36-mile, 62-mile and 100-mile route. Tree Musketeers’ Community Forester will work with you to select from the species and locations available on Memory Row, where Memory Trees are planted. The Tree Adoption Ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 20th. Complete your Memory Tree Reservation Form today!

Adopting a tree is also great for those who:
* Live in an apartment with no place to own a tree
* Want to give a unique gift to tree-loving friends
* Want to mark a birth, passing, wedding, birthday, or personal accomplishment

Become a White Point Nature Center Docent!

Site Overview:
With added support from Nature Center Docents, the Conservancy is better able to inform the public about ongoing land preservation, restoration work and the mission of “preserving land and restoring habitat for the education and enjoyment of all.”

As a Volunteer Nature Center Docent, you will support open hours of White Point Nature Education Center (Wednesday, Saturday, or Sunday 10am-4pm) for the public, sharing information about the exhibits and Nature Preserve, along with continuing to expand knowledge of the local area.

The Nature Center is a hub for visitors to learn more about efforts by the Land Conservancy, local ecology, geology and cultural history. Visitation at the site can vary between quiet with the occasional hiker to bustling with excitement for for plant sales, guided hikes, field trips, lectures and other events.

Job Description:

  • Greet visitors, answer basic questions about PVPLC, preserve and local nature, or direct visitor to resources such as landmarks on the peninsula
  • Assist with monthly projects around center like exhibit rotation, keeping information current in kiosk, light cleaning or gardening
  • Assist with preparations for workshops, field trips and plant sales
  • Create a safe place and fun atmosphere for children and adults
  • This opportunity is 18 and over.

Volunteer: Pasadena’s Union Station Homeless Services 5K Walk @ Near Union Station (email for route details)

Union Station Homeless Services in Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley's largest social services agency, is holding a 5K Walk "March Home: Ending Homelessness One Step at a Time" on Saturday, June 10th, 2017.

Volunteer positions are available; no orientation required. Youth ages 10-16 may volunteer for the Cheer Team positions.  Minimum age to volunteer is 10 years old.

  • SET UP 5:00am-8:00am
  • EVENT 6:00am-12:00pm
  • CHILDREN'S FUN ZONE 6:00am-12:00pm – We are looking for people who like to do face painting!
  • CHEER TEAM 8:30am-12:00pm
  • CLEAN-UP 11:00am-2:00pm
  • TO SIGN UP: Email volunteer@unionstationhs.org and indicate which shift you would like, the ages if between 10-16, and how many are in your party. Please provide your best email and cell phone/home phone number.

The route goes past Union Station's three permanent supportive housing programs: Centennial Place, Euclid Villa, and Marv's Place. The Finish Line Festival will include guest speakers, live music, family fun zone, food trucks and more!
