Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

L.A. GOAL’s award winning visual arts studio, Inside Out Productions, proudly presents its 25th Annual Art Exhibit! Join them in celebrating the whimsically creative, colorful, confounding and reassuring artwork of Inside Out artists. L.A. GOAL, a non-profit agency, guides adults with developmental disabilities in finding, recognizing and utilizing their abilities.
The one-day art exhibit and sale will take place at Koplin Del Rio Gallery on Sunday, October 25th, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Proceeds from sales are used to help offset the artists’ salaries and purchase their studio supplies. Inside Out Productions provides professional art instruction as well as paid, part-time employment for artists with developmental disabilities.
Original works of fine art, multi-media sculpture, embroidery, weaving and ceramics will be on display and available for sale. Stop by the L.A. GOAL pop up shop to browse our exciting new products, including an array of new greeting cards, screen printed apparel and notebooks, art prints, ceramic tea light holders, canvas accent pillows, and other neat home and gift items.
Eleana Del Rio donates the Koplin Del Rio Gallery every year to L.A. GOAL for this annual art event. Koplin Del Rio focuses on contemporary painting, drawing and sculpture of internationally acclaimed artists, as well as emerging California artists. Koplin Del Rio emphasizes showing representational, figurative, landscape and still-life works.

Do you love the show Wipe Out? Come volunteer for the Insane Inflatable 5K with the American Cancer Society! You will receive a volunteer crew t-shirt, lunch and snacks and access to the Insane Midway for games and activities. The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is the charity of choice for this event and will receive a donation for providing volunteers! Join Team Big Sunday at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for Griffith Park Communities and Hollywood. The Relay For Life events bring hope, encouragement and services to those struggling with cancer, remembrance for those who have lost a loved one, and provides fundraising for the cure. Registration is free. Donations are optional. Come walk with the team!
LAWineFest is in need of volunteers to work 4-hour shifts starting at 9:30 am with the last shift starting at 4:00 pm. This event benefits The Sunshine Kids, dedicated to providing activities, trips, and events for young cancer patients. Participants should be 21 or over, and early shift volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the festival from 2-6 pm, free of charge.
Please come out and celebrate with Walk With Sally at White Light White Night as participants embrace the healing power of the all-white gala. This event raises funds that allows Walk With Sally to provide free mentorship programs for children whose families are impacted by cancer. The Jessica M. Berman Wonder Woman Walk for Breast Cancer is looking for 100+ volunteers to help
on Sunday, September 18th, 2016. Volunteer assignments include registration, water stations, expo, start/finish line and kids zone.
The Jessica M. Berman WONDER WOMAN WALK for Breast Cancer benefits Tower Cancer Research Foundation, which provides funding for
important and innovative breast cancer research and patient support services. The Walk celebrates breast cancer survivors and honors those who

Website Weekend is a weekend-long hackathon where teams of digital professionals, including designers, developers, copy writers, and more, are paired up with local nonprofit organizations. Over the course of the weekend, the teams will work closely with representatives from the nonprofit organizations to design, develop and launch new websites for the nonprofits. We need help from experienced web developers and designers, user experience professionals, copy writers, digital marketers, and more. We also need help with general volunteer tasks: handling checkins, cleanup, making sure lunch and breakfast are served, and that everyone has everything they need to be comfortable and productive. The North American Reptile Breeders Conference & Trade Show welcomes families, students, reptile professionals and enthusiasts to its Pasadena show this November. Attendees will get an up-close view of reptiles of all shapes and sizes including snakes, frogs, turtles, geckos, iguanas, and tortoises – all are available for sale.
