Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.
If you have questions about our calendar, or would like to add a listing, please contact email@example.com or submit your event/opportunity via the button below.
Join us for our first-ever Mother’s Day Party! It will be a great time for anyone who is a mom, has a mom, or knows a mom. We’ll be making cards and gifts for moms who are shut-ins and doing special collections for Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, and m2m (Mother 2 Mother) which helps women with AIDS in Africa. We’ll also be collecting new and gently used baby clothes for an orphanage in Central America. All ages are welcome. For more info, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Located at Mother’s Beach in Marina Del Rey, CA, this Youth Water Sports Camp is offered as a community service to boys and girls ages 8 to 18 and their families from June through September.
The half-day summer camp provides instruction in the basic fundamentals of sit-on-top kayaking.
The program serves youth residing in the counties of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego and Ventura. For more info, please contact Gay Brewer or Lorraine Johnson.
Join Mending Kids October 13th on our inaugural Hike to Mend! The up to 5-mile hike symbolizes the distance that a parent in a developing country has to travel on foot to gain access to surgical care for their child. Walk a few miles in their shoes and help us provide them the care they desperately need.
Mending Kids provides free life-saving surgical care to sick children worldwide by deploying
volunteer medical teams and educating communities to become medically self-sustaining. Learn more at mendingkids.org.
