Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

Do you love the show Wipe Out? Come volunteer for the Insane Inflatable 5K with the American Cancer Society! You will receive a volunteer crew t-shirt, lunch and snacks and access to the Insane Midway for games and activities. The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is the charity of choice for this event and will receive a donation for providing volunteers! Join our friends at Program for Torture Victims (PTV) as they Ride for Human Rights! PTV rebuilds the lives of torture survivors from over 70 countries who have stood up for freedom, democracy, and human dignity.

Join Team Big Sunday at the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for Griffith Park Communities and Hollywood. The Relay For Life events bring hope, encouragement and services to those struggling with cancer, remembrance for those who have lost a loved one, and provides fundraising for the cure. Registration is free. Donations are optional. Come walk with the team!
LAWineFest is in need of volunteers to work 4-hour shifts starting at 9:30 am with the last shift starting at 4:00 pm. This event benefits The Sunshine Kids, dedicated to providing activities, trips, and events for young cancer patients. Participants should be 21 or over, and early shift volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the festival from 2-6 pm, free of charge.
Please come out and celebrate with Walk With Sally at White Light White Night as participants embrace the healing power of the all-white gala. This event raises funds that allows Walk With Sally to provide free mentorship programs for children whose families are impacted by cancer. Amnesty International invites you to this year's Western Regional Conference! Join them October 28-30, 2016, as they stand shoulder to shoulder in the great city of Los Angeles to make a lasting human rights impact. The Western Regional Conference brings together hundreds of Amnesty members and other human rights activists from around the country. With the Regional Conference Planning Committee and Regional Office as co-hosts, together they will continue the tradition of engaging in networking opportunities, inspiring plenaries, outstanding keynotes, and hands-on skill-building workshops, as well as shaping the policies of the organization.
Through interactive programs and workshops, exceptional speakers and engaging exhibits, the Regional Conference will facilitate discussions about human rights issues in the United States and around the world and motivate us to take action.
