Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

This ongoing series explores the wide range of movies that can be considered Westerns, and the ways in which they shape our understanding of the American West. The July/August screenings feature buddy comedies that offer humorous explorations of the West, with guest speaker Josh Garrett-Davis, the Autry’s Gamble Assistant Curator of Western History, Popular Culture, and Firearms. The LA Galaxy and Gift of Life are teaming up to Kick Blood Cancer at The Grove! Bring your kids to meet Galaxy soccer players and take part in fun soccer activities. Those 18 and over will be able to join the registry and get the chance to save a life.

Please join us in our volunteer day at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank! Volunteers are needed to help sort, inspect, and repackage donated food items from local food drives. Help us help those in need by donating your time to fight hunger in our community.

Volunteers are needed to help distribute food for those in need in our community. The food boxes consist of shelf-stable staples such as milk, beans, grains, and canned fruits and vegetables.Help us help those in need!
These kits go to an average of 28,000 seniors every month at 146 sites throughout Los Angeles County. In 2018, the Food Bank distributed 325,043 Senior Nutrition food kits through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). We are proud to facilitate the largest CSFP in the country and eternally grateful for the dedicated volunteers who make this work possible!
The following are the minimum requirements:
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Participate the entire shift
