Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

Volunteers will help set-up and decorate, escort seniors, help manage lines, serve dinner, act as wait staff, hand out thank you gifts, etc. Volunteers will need to be able to be on their feet and enjoying interacting with others. Around 200 attendees are expected at this event and they'll really need some help to pull off this event! Participants must be high school age or above, please! The LA Galaxy and Gift of Life are teaming up to Kick Blood Cancer at The Grove! Bring your kids to meet Galaxy soccer players and take part in fun soccer activities. Those 18 and over will be able to join the registry and get the chance to save a life.
Westside Children’s Center (WCC) exists to give at-risk children and children living in poverty the foundation they need to increase their life choices and lead fulfilling lives. For over 25 years, WCC has been providing thousands of at-risk children and their families with critical, high-quality early education programs (including comprehensive Early Head Start services), family strengthening interventions, foster care and adoption services, and a range of vital, integrated services, including educational assessments, disabilities screenings, nutrition, dental and vision screenings, and pediatric health consultations.

We’re on a mission to bring STEAM to communities nationwide with the STEAM Carnival (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). The goal of the event is to inspire more creative thinkers, and doers, through playful, meaningful, immersive experiences. STEAM Carnival champions the mindset that these multiple disciplines are seamlessly integrated into how people live, work, and play today.
The Hawthorne STEAM Carnival kicks off on May 19th, and you're invited to take part in the festivities. Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose. This is going to be epic!
we need general set up, clean up for the event and help during the event such as dishwashing. We also would need some volunteers for face painting and balloon making for the kids who will be in attendance.
Description: LINC provides affordable housing along with supportive services to low-income families, seniors, and the formerly homeless. Volunteers will be chaperoning our transitional age youth with a field trip to The Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services. There will be 8 of our residents and 2 children.

- Transportation will be by the Long Beach city bus along with our Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator
