Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.

People for Community Improvement in association with Bank of America, First Five LA, and the LAPD/Sherriff Department present the 8th Annual Walk 4 Life. The special festival will feature a car show and live performances by Tommy the Clown – The Prince of L.A. and has a theme — “Bring the Lost Home.”
- 9 am – 4K Walk begins at The Sheriff Youth Center (11911 S. Vermont Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90044)

Come join us, Volunteer Action for Aging (VAA), at a fun Coaster Making Workshop for seniors.
Do you enjoy speaking with seniors? Do you enjoy lending a helping hand? Then come join us on August 3rd from 1:15pm to 3:45pm at a senior building in Northridge (location details will be provided with confirmation).
Bilingual Russian/English and Spanish English volunteers ideal, but not required. RSVP with phone number is required.
Volunteers are needed to help at the Summer Trail Series events taking place Thursday evenings on the following dates:
• Thursday, June 15
• Thursday, July 13
• Thursday, August 3rd
Location: Cedar Grove Park in Tustin
Time: Volunteer shifts vary from 4:30/5pm – 8:30/9pm
Assignments: Registration/T-shirts, Kids Run, Course monitors, water stations, and BBQ servers

The Renegade Summer Trail Run Series benefits WeROCK (We Run Orange County’s Kids), a non-profit organization that provides after-school intervention programs for the Middle and High School students of Orange County. By delivering education and proper training for the completion of a 26.2 mile marathon, We ROCK teaches our community’s teenagers the important life skills of goal setting, self-reliance, discipline and self-confidence. Make the Connection — VA’s leading national mental health awareness campaign — is coming to LA to film Veterans and their families to participate in a national campaign to help Veterans manage mental health challenges that affect their well-being and their daily lives. They can join more than 500 Veterans and family members who have participated in the Make the Connection campaign to spread the word about mental health and encourage Veterans to reach out for support.
Who: Any Veteran — of any age or branch of service (including National Guard and Reserve) — with or without his or her family
When: Friday, Feb. 23, and Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018, for approximately two hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
What: On-camera, professionally filmed interview to talk about experiences with mental health challenges and recovery
Where: Los Angeles; address provided upon confirmation of participation

We are proud to facilitate the largest CSFP in the country and eternally grateful for the dedicated volunteers who make this work possible!

Please join us in our volunteer day at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank! Volunteers are needed to help sort, inspect, and repackage donated food items from local food drives. Help us help those in need by donating your time to fight hunger in our community.
