Big Sunday happily welcomes you to Our Really Big Community Calendar.
We try to include all kinds of volunteering and helping opportunities for all kinds of interests, talents, passions, and ages! As you’ll see, these include volunteering opportunities (one-time and long-term) as well as the chance to support a nonprofit by attending fundraising events. Plus, of course, we include all of Big Sunday’s homegrown events, too! Whoever you are, and whatever you do, there is someone out there who could use your help.
If you have questions about our calendar, or would like to add a listing, please contact calendar@bigsunday.org or submit your event/opportunity via the button below.

I am happy to share that new street trees are coming to the Alamitos Beach neighborhood! This weekday tree planting is a great opportunity for groups to participate in a week day team building event.
About 60 trees will be planted in the neighborhood bounded by:
Broadway –- North
Ocean Boulevard –- South
Orange Avenue — East
Alamitos Avenue -– West
Additional trees will also be planted in vacant tree wells along East 4th Street.
Alamitos Beach Tree and Flower Garden Party Club is committed to help plant, water and care for these trees for their first year.
Come help plant the trees! The trees will be planted to help commemorate the 25th anniversary of the first Alamitos Beach Memorial Trees Project when neighbors began working together in 1994 to plant street trees to remember treasured neighbors who have passed away.
