\n Volunteers provide temporary care to young\, injured\, abused
or under-socialized animals. Volunteers return their foster animals when
they are deemed suitable for adoption by OC Animal Care clinic staff. The
volunteer is responsible for all expenses incurred while fostering.\n
\n VOLUNTEER SELECTION\n
\n\n OC Animal Care requires that all po tential volunteers go through an extensive selection process. This process ensures that OC Animal Care is selecting volunteers that best fit the nee ds of the program and understand the unique environment in which they will work. The selection process may take up to two months. Please note that a pplicants will be selected based on the current needs of OC Animal Care.\n

to a minimum of eight hours per month for three months. This commitment en

Studio volunteeri sm requires a once-per-week\, two-hour commitment for the duration of a se ssion: 3 – 10 weeks total\, depending on the program. In order to be eligi ble for studio volunteerism\, you must participate in a one-on-one intervi ew and orientation. Additionally\, all studio volunteers are required to s ign a background check consent prior to serving in the studios with studen ts.\n
\n\n LEARNING AND ACHIEVING THROUGH THE ARTS (LATA) serv es elementary and middle school students from the Los Angeles Unified Scho ol District and local charter schools. Twice a week\, for seven- or eight- week sessions\, students and their classroom teachers are brought to the I nner-City Arts campus for experiential instruction in the visual and perfo rming arts during the school day. LATA studio volunteers support by assist ing teaching artists with studio set-up and transitions\, motivating stude nts to engage in the creative process\, and sometimes participating in pro jects and exercises alongside students. LATA studio volunteers support per iods 1 -3 on Monday\, Wednesday\, and Friday and periods 1-2 on Tuesday an d Thursday in the following volunteer shifts:\n
\n\n Period 1: 8:30 a m – 10:30 am\n
\n\n Period 2:10:15 am – 12:15 pm\n
\n\n Period 3 : 12:15 pm – 2:15 pm\n
\n\n THE VISUAL\, MEDIA AND PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTES offer self-select\, after-school and weekend workshops to middle and high school students\, once weekly across ten weeks during Fall and Spring sessions and twice weekly across five weeks over summer. Insti tutes volunteers support teaching artists and students by lending their ex pertise in a specific medium and assisting teaching artists with studio se t-up and transitions. Volunteer shifts vary from workshop to workshop.\n p>\n
\n ARTISTS IN THE MIDDLE (AIM) is Inner-City Arts' sum mer programming for incoming 6th – 8th grade students\, during which stude nts have the opportunity to hone their skills in four different art forms during one of two three-week sessions. AIM studio volunteers support by as sisting teaching artists with studio set-up and transitions\, motivating s tudents to engage in the creative process\, and sometimes participating in projects and exercises alongside students. AIM studio volunteers support periods 1 -2 Monday – Friday in the following volunteer shifts:\n
