\n Volunteers provide temporary care to young\, injured\, abused
or under-socialized animals. Volunteers return their foster animals when
they are deemed suitable for adoption by OC Animal Care clinic staff. The
volunteer is responsible for all expenses incurred while fostering.\n
\n VOLUNTEER SELECTION\n
\n\n OC Animal Care requires that all po tential volunteers go through an extensive selection process. This process ensures that OC Animal Care is selecting volunteers that best fit the nee ds of the program and understand the unique environment in which they will work. The selection process may take up to two months. Please note that a pplicants will be selected based on the current needs of OC Animal Care.\n
\n\n Time Commitment
\n OC Animal Care requests that you commit
to a minimum of eight hours per month for three months. This commitment en
sures that the program will operate smoothly and that the maximum benefit
is derived for the animals.\n

ff provide training to all volunteers. Volunteers are required to complete
the training for each position in which they are selected to serve.
\n Regular volunteers commit to serving at The Center 1+ days a week in the capacity of participating in or leading groups\, attending coffee hour\, cleaning\, or assisting with office work. Weekly shifts rang e from 1.5-8 hours per shift.\n
\n\n As an example one of our regular volunteers\, Tim\, leads a group called “Timspirations” in which he shows an array of inspiration videos from across the web. He then leads the gro up in a discussion on their reflections and anecdotes about the clips.

horses\, which includes\, leading horses and spotting\, which is walking
alongside the horse to ensure child’s safety and position changes on the h
orse. Other activities might include: grooming horses\, cleaning tack\, ga
rdening (raking\, weeding\, etc.)\, mailings\, etc. \n Second Chances Leadership Program was designed to build an
d develop the self-confidence\, life and leadership skills of youth throug
h interactive learning\, in-class discussions\, presentations\, panels\, w
orkshops\, and exploratory field-trips. Upon conclusion\, participants wil
l be able to demonstrate their understanding and knowledge of a leader’s c
ore essentials through a service learning project\, weekly homework and jo
urnaling assignments\, discussions\, presentations\, and a culmination pro
ject.\n \n Our youth will become ‘Ambassadors’ allowing them to bec
ome well versed in the theoretical and practical application of a leader’s
core essentials and be capable of utilizing them within their home\, scho
ol\, and community. This allows them to personally develop through leaders
hip programs and have access to tools and resources that not only helps su
ch youth to apply to college\, but also prepares them to succeed in life.
\n \n The Leadership Program consists of 5 modules that are 8 weeks
in length. The modules expands our youth knowledge base by providing sign
ificant exposure to real-life work experiences\, hands-on activities that
challenge their decision making process\, and intense cross-cultural volun
teer projects both locally and abroad. \n Every Sunday volunteers sign in at 7am and out at 1pm to h
elp greet at the entrance gates and offer information about ONEgeneration
services\, help at the Bagel or Book booths\, or assist a Farmers or small
business for the day. This event is a walk in position so you can come a
ny Sunday that you are available from 7am to 1pm\, no partial shifts. \n<
/p>\n \n When volunteers sign out at 1pm they will receive a completion l

from all ONEgeneration booths and entrance gates support the programs we
offer the community. \n You can help distribute food and clothing to the homeless

(1625 N. Schrader Blvd.) Devoting 90 minutes of your time has a positive
and heartwarming impact on the homeless that you serve. We are kid
friendly too! We encourage you to bring your children and inspi
re them to give back to their community. (All children must be accompanied

donation\, including children. Your gift will go towards funding
for the food and gift cards you will help distribute on Sunday afternoon.
\n For over 20 years\, Food on Foot has been assisting the ho
meless by providing nutritious meals\, clothing\, work opportunities and u
ltimately the transition to full-time employment and life off the streets.

This outdoor venue allows individuals to come together and learn about gardening\, the benef its of locally grown\, organic food that is environmentally friendly\, sus tainable and cost-effective.
